Penn Township Recreation Board

Pavilions are available for rent at the Penn Township Municipal Park and Level Green Park. Rentals can be made by contacting the Penn Township Administration Department. Click here for more information.
Recreation opportunities are available through out the township through a variety of parks, facilities, programs, classes, and organizations. The information posted here is presented as a public service and is not fully inclusive.
Several athletic teams organize annually in Penn Township. For more information about getting involved with one of these teams, contact the sport representative at bottom of this page.
Supervised playground activities are held each year in several Penn Township area playgrounds.
The pond is stocked with fish prior to the fishing season and daily limits apply. Please read the General Park rules.
Penn-Trafford Community Band
The Penn-Trafford Community Band plays at various community days, church festivals, organizational gatherings and special events throughout the area.
The community band is open to area residents of any age and talent level who enjoy playing music and entertaining audiences with musical selections.
The P-T Community Band meets on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at the Penn Middle School auditorium. For information, call Ron Rometo at 724-309-2000. Read more about the Penn-Trafford Community Band.
Penn Township Fall Festival
An annual festival celebrating the founding of Penn Township for 3 days in September. Organized by a committee of volunteers, the festival is a true family event that rides and entertainment along with food, crafts, games, fireworks, and vendors of all types for the public to enjoy. Westmoreland Heritage Trail
The Westmoreland Heritage Trail is a scenic bicycle and walking trail covering 8.5 miles from Saltsburg to Delmont and 5.9 miles from Murrysville to Trafford. The trail is ideal for walking, jogging, bicycling, and cross-country skiing. It has a wide and flat handicapped accessible surface and will accommodate everyone regardless of age or physical ability. There are a few parks located just off the trail along the sections, including Duff Park behind the Robert’s Parcel trailhead, BY Park near the Trafford trailhead, and Saltsburg Park near the Saltsburg trailhead.
